What better way to celebrate the festive period than by attending the 'World's Best Equestrian Christmas Party'?
The Olympia Horse Show is returning to London between December 16th and 22nd and promises to be bigger and better than ever before. This year's event will be held at the Olympia Exhibition Centre in Hammersmith, west London, with a cavalcade of entertainment already penned in for the seven-day show.
Kicking off on December 16th and 17th is the Reem Acra FEI World Cup Dressage Leg which has already a host of top names from the equestrian world. Olympic gold medalist Charlotte Dujardin will be strutting her stuff on her horse Valegro and will be looking to build on the success of last year's event.
Ms Dujardin said: "Winning the FEI World Cup Dressage at Olympia in 2012 on Valegro was just incredible and the support from the home crowds is always humbling. There are very few competitions in the world that compare to the atmosphere at Olympia and it is undoubtedly one of the greatest shows there is."
The dressage competition is the perfect prelude to The Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art Gala Evening on December 16th. Towards the end of the week there will be the inclusion of the Extreme Driving FEI World (December 19th and 20th) which is a must-see event for the whole family. The Longines FEI World Cup Jumping Leg will take place on December 21st while The Olympia Grand Prix will cap the show off on December 22nd.
There are new features for the 2013 event with the launch of the first-ever High School Gala Evening on December 16th. This will include a full display from the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art riders who will be showing their skills on their grey and bay Spanish stallions.
Ticket prices for the events vary but can start from as little as £25.
